The HERTEL MR46-1071.563 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and alloy workpieces. With a 2.72 mm (0.1071 inch) reamer diameter and a tight tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool delivers consistent, accurate bore sizing in high-precision machining applications. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction promotes smooth chip evacuation while maintaining a right-hand cutting action. At 75 mm overall length with a 14 mm flute length, it fits standard CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with straight-shank collet chucks. Machinists and tool-room technicians working in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking rely on this reamer for final-pass bore refinement.
This reamer is suited for small-diameter reaming operations in the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm diameter range. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in collet chucks or precision reamer holders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses. The bright, uncoated carbide finish is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating buildup or thermal interaction is a concern. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under-size reamer, making it a standard finish-reaming tool for nominal bore sizing.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks and precision reamer holders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses accepting tools in the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with precision reaming operations. Ensure the machine spindle and workpiece fixture are fully secured and the machine is powered down before mounting or changing the reamer. Use a precision collet sized for the straight shank diameter to minimize runout, as excessive runout will negatively affect bore tolerance. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting speeds and feeds for carbide tooling.
