The HERTEL MR34-0626.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a diameter of 0.0625 inches (1/16 inch) and a bright polished finish, this reamer delivers tight dimensional accuracy held to a tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 inches on the cutting diameter. The four-flute spiral design with left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction provides smooth chip evacuation and a fine surface finish in the reamed bore. At 1.9685 inches overall length with a 0.7087 inch flute length, it is sized for short-reach precision work in a standard drill chuck or collet setup.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and job-shop machining environments where close-tolerance bore finishing is required. The straight shank allows direct mounting in drill chucks, collet chucks, or floating reamer holders on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. Solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials and higher-speed applications where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under size reamer, making it a standard on-size finishing tool.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks, collet chucks, and floating reamer holders on CNC and manual machine tools requiring 1/16 inch on-size bore finishing.
This tool is installed by a machinist or tooling technician into a compatible chuck or collet holder sized for a straight shank. The machine spindle must be stopped and the tool holder secured before inserting or removing the reamer. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or side loading.
