The HERTEL MR34-0547.406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 1.39 mm cutting diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this reamer produces highly accurate bores suitable for close-fit assemblies. The four-flute spiral configuration with left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting action promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter during the cut. At 50 mm overall length with a 10 mm flute length, the tool is compact and well-suited for shallow-bore operations. Machinists and tool and die technicians select this reamer for applications demanding consistent, repeatable hole sizing.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes where straight-shank toolholders or drill chucks are employed. Its solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for finishing bores in hardened steels, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where high rigidity and edge retention are required. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern or where the tool will be re-sharpened. It is sold individually and is a practical choice for low-volume precision work or as a replacement reamer in existing tooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in straight-shank toolholders, drill chucks, and collet systems on CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses requiring a 1.39 mm finishing reamer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolroom practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips before seating the straight shank. Secure the shank with adequate clamping force in the chuck or collet to prevent pullout during the reaming pass. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maintain tool life and surface finish quality.
