The HERTEL MR34-0276.281 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.7 mm reamer diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool is built for applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction helps control chip evacuation, while the right-hand cutting direction provides standard forward cutting action. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard collet chucks or drill chucks, and the bright (polished) finish reduces friction at the cutting edge. This reamer is typically handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision bores in metal components.
This chucking reamer is suited for finishing bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a close-tolerance hole is required. The 50 mm overall length (1.9685 inches) and 7 mm flute length make it appropriate for shallow-bore finishing operations in small workpieces or components with limited clearance. Its solid carbide construction supports use in harder materials and higher-speed operations compared to high-speed steel alternatives. This is a single-piece, straight-shank tool intended for CNC machining centers, lathes, or drill presses equipped with appropriate collet or chuck toolholding.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks, drill chucks, or toolholders accepting a 0.7 mm diameter straight-shank tool.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming procedures and appropriate cutting speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are free of runout before mounting, as excessive runout will damage the cutting edges and compromise bore tolerance. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before loading or removing the reamer. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for small-diameter carbide tooling.
