The HERTEL MR34-0169.099 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.43 mm diameter and a reamer diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool is built for applications where dimensional accuracy is critical. The spiral flute geometry with left-hand spiral direction promotes smooth chip evacuation while the right-hand cutting direction delivers a clean, consistent bore finish. At 50 mm overall length with a 2.5 mm flute length, this is a compact tool suited for shallow reaming passes. It ships in a bright polished finish with no coating, preserving dimensional integrity on the cutting edge. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This chucking reamer is intended for precision bore finishing operations in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines equipped with a collet or chuck. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard ER collets, Jacobs-style chucks, and similar workholding. It is well suited for small-diameter reaming in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight hole tolerances are required. The 4-flute design provides good surface finish at low to moderate feed rates. This is not an over- or under-size reamer and is not configured as a dowel pin reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank toolholders, ER collet systems, and Jacobs-style chucks accepting small-diameter shanks in CNC and manual machining setups.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the reamer. Seat the straight shank fully and evenly in the collet or chuck, and verify runout before cutting. At 0.43 mm diameter, this tool is extremely fragile — do not apply side load, exceed recommended feed rates, or use it for drilling; it is a finishing tool only.
