The HERTEL MR34-0165.099 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision bore finishing in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.42 mm reaming diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool holds extremely close dimensional control. The spiral flute geometry runs in a left-hand spiral direction with a right-hand cutting direction, which helps control chip evacuation and reduces chatter in small-bore work. At 50 mm overall length with a 2.5 mm flute length, it is sized for micro-diameter finish reaming. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where bore quality and size consistency are critical.
This reamer is suited for precision finish reaming of small-diameter bores in metalworking environments, including production machining, mold and die work, and instrument component manufacturing. The straight shank allows direct chuck mounting in standard collet chucks or drill chucks without an adapter. The bright polished finish reduces built-up edge on the cutting faces and suits use in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shops requiring accurate, repeatable bore sizing at the micro-diameter range below 0.5 mm.
Designed as an OEM-style precision chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes equipped with standard straight-shank collet or drill chuck toolholders accepting micro-diameter reamer shanks.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with precision boring and reaming operations. Secure the straight shank firmly in a compatible collet or drill chuck before use, and verify runout with a dial indicator prior to cutting. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for carbide tooling at this diameter, as micro-diameter carbide reamers are sensitive to side loading and deflection.
