The HERTEL MR34-0161.099 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.0161 inches (0.41 mm) and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool is built for applications where bore accuracy is critical. The 4-flute spiral design with a left-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction provides smooth chip evacuation and consistent surface finish. A bright polished coating reduces friction and extends tool life. Licensed machinists and tool room operators working with micro-diameter bores will find this reamer suitable for production and precision repair environments.
This chucking reamer is intended for finishing operations on small-diameter through-holes and blind bores in metalworking and machining applications. The straight shank allows it to be held in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, and reamer holders on CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses. Its compact overall length of 1.9685 inches and 0.1969-inch flute length make it well suited for shallow bore finishing where rigidity and minimal tool overhang are priorities. It is not configured as a dowel pin reamer or an over/under size reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank tool holders, collet chucks, and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, lathes, and bench drill presses requiring a 0.0161-inch finish reamer.
This reamer should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or chuck with minimal runout before operation, as tool deflection at this diameter range can cause oversize or tapered bores. Always ensure the workpiece is properly fixtured and the machine spindle is at the correct speed and feed rate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not use this reamer to remove excessive stock; pre-drill or bore to within a few thousandths of final diameter before reaming.
