The HERTEL MR34-0130.079 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-size precision bores to tight tolerances in metalworking applications. With a 0.33 mm reamer diameter and a diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to +0.0003 mm, this tool is built for applications where dimensional accuracy is non-negotiable. The spiral flute geometry, combined with a left-hand spiral direction and right-hand cutting direction, helps evacuate chips efficiently and reduces chatter during the cut. The bright polished finish minimizes built-up edge and supports smooth surface finish in the bore. Machinists and tool-room professionals install this reamer in CNC machining centers and precision drill presses using a straight shank collet or drill chuck setup.
This reamer is suited for precision bore finishing in production and tool-room environments where micro-diameter holes require consistent sizing. With a 2 mm flute length and 50 mm overall length, it is intended for shallow, close-tolerance bores in small or intricate workpieces. Typical applications include watch components, medical device parts, instrument housings, and other work requiring sub-millimeter bore accuracy. The solid carbide construction performs well in hardened steels, cast iron, aluminum, and other materials that demand rigidity and edge retention at small diameters.
Designed as an OEM-style precision reamer for use in CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and precision lathes equipped with straight-shank collet or drill chuck tooling capable of holding a 0.33 mm diameter shank.
This reamer should be installed and operated by a qualified machinist familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are properly secured and that runout is minimized before engaging the cut, as micro-diameter carbide tools are brittle and will fracture under lateral load or excessive runout. Use a cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to protect the cutting edge and maintain bore finish. Do not force-feed or exceed recommended feed rates for the diameter, as carbide reamers at this size have very limited deflection tolerance.
