The HERTEL E899921305 is a square end mill designed for milling operations in metal fabrication, tool rooms, and general machining environments. Ground from high speed steel (HSS) and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this end mill offers improved wear resistance and surface lubricity compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It features a 0.625-inch cutting diameter, a 1.3125-inch length of cut, and a 3.75-inch overall length. The 2-flute geometry and 30-degree spiral helix support efficient chip evacuation in a range of materials. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC setup technicians.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunging operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in both manual and CNC milling applications. The 0.625-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and knee mills. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is consistent with conventional spindle rotation on standard milling equipment. The 2-flute design is particularly effective in softer materials and slotting applications where chip clearance is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use HSS square end mill for standard 0.625-inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and Weldon-style tool holders used in vertical milling centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with cutting tool setup and machine tool operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the recommended minimum insertion depth per the toolholder manufacturer specification to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cut orientation of this tool before engaging the workpiece.
