The HERTEL 750475 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) finish, it handles elevated cutting temperatures and abrasive workpieces. The 30-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With a 1 inch cutting diameter, 2.25 inch length of cut, and 5 inch overall length, this is a long-length configuration suited to deep-pocket and extended-reach milling applications. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and CNC programmers running vertical or horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is used in production and job-shop environments where deep pockets, slots, or side-milling operations require extended reach beyond what standard-length tooling provides. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional milling setups. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, and slotting in steel, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials where AlTiN coating provides thermal and wear resistance.
Designed as a direct-mount solid carbide end mill for use in standard 1 inch straight-shank toolholders, collet chucks, and hydraulic or shrink-fit holders on CNC machining centers.
Install in a clean, properly sized toolholder and torque retention screws or collet nuts to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout at the cutting tip before engaging the workpiece, as micrograin carbide is sensitive to deflection and improper seating. Machine spindle and axis movement should be verified in the CNC program before first cut. Follow shop safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE when handling or measuring carbide tooling.
