The HERTEL 15071286 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, 4 spiral flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean cutting action on a wide range of workpiece materials. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and edge retention suited to demanding cutting conditions. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1 inch length of cut, it fits standard toolholders and machining centers used in job shops and production environments. Weighing 0.23 pounds, this is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration with no chipbreaker or coolant-through features.
This end mill is well suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, expanding its versatility in die work, mold making, and general-purpose material removal. The bright, uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use in materials where coating adhesion or heat buildup from coated tooling may be a concern, including certain non-ferrous metals and plastics.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar setups accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Part of the HSQSC4-CC series.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 1/2 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut range of 1.0 to 1.25 inches to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
