The HERTEL 12467706 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard plastic workpieces. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and edge retention well beyond what high-speed steel tooling can provide. The 3/8 inch diameter cutter features four flutes with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix, producing a clean shearing action that reduces chatter and improves surface finish. With a 1 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length, this is a standard-reach tool suited to general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. Machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is sized for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual or CNC milling machines equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholder. The uncoated bright finish makes it well suited for aluminum, brass, copper, and softer steels where a coated tool is not required or where re-sharpening is a priority. The HSQSC4-CC series designation identifies it as a four-flute square-end geometry in a fractional inch standard. Single-end construction means the cutting geometry is on one end only.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch replacement or production end mill for any milling setup accepting a 3/8 inch shank toolholder. Fits collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders with a 3/8 inch bore.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the toolholder is torqued to the machine manufacturer specification before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide end mills can fail abruptly if run with a damaged edge.
