The HERTEL 1001192 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual turning operations. Manufactured to the SNG633 ISO standard, this insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiC, TiCN, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The square insert geometry with a 90-degree included angle and neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both roughing and finishing passes. It carries an HC335 manufacturer grade and is rated for use on P-class (steel) and M-class (stainless) workpiece materials. A licensed machinist or tooling technician performs the replacement at the tool turret or toolholder.

This insert fits within the KENDEX series toolholder system and is applied in production turning environments where consistent surface finish and tool life are required. The 3/4-inch inscribed circle and 3/16-inch insert thickness suit mid-to-large diameter turning tools. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (approximately 1.25 mm), it is best applied in controlled finish or semi-finish turning passes on steel and stainless workpieces. Neutral hand orientation allows use in both left-hand and right-hand toolholder configurations.
