The HERTEL 1001134 is a solid carbide, uncoated turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. Shaped to the TPG432 standard, it features a 60-degree triangular geometry with a neutral hand orientation and an 11-degree relief angle. The 0.5-inch inscribed circle and 0.03125-inch corner radius make it suitable for light to moderate turning passes. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm) and a positive rake configuration, this insert delivers clean chip formation in demanding machining environments. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop settings.
The 1001134 is part of the HERTEL KENDEX series and is rated for use on nonferrous metals and high-temperature alloys as its primary workpiece materials, with cast iron and stainless steel listed as secondary workpiece materials. It is suited for finish and semi-finish turning operations where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are priorities. The insert mounts via a clamp-style holding method, consistent with standard TPG toolholders. The uncoated carbide grade HT10 is classified as material grade C2, appropriate for controlled cutting conditions on harder or abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed for use in standard TPG-style clamp toolholders accepting a 432-size triangular insert with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle. Compatible with toolholders conforming to TPG432 pocket geometry. Primary workpiece materials are nonferrous metals and high-temperature alloys (N, S); secondary workpiece materials include cast iron and stainless steel (K, M).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert — do not overtighten or use impact tools on the clamp screw. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and alignment.
