The HERTEL 1000707 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TPU322 style, designed for external turning and profiling operations on CNC and manual lathes. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiC, TiCN, and TiN under manufacturer grade HC335, delivering wear resistance and heat tolerance across a range of cutting conditions. The insert is neutral hand, fits a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, and features a 1/32 inch corner radius. With an included angle of 60 degrees, this triangular insert provides three usable cutting edges per insert. It is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals in production turning and finishing applications.

The 1000707 is suited for turning ferrous metals including steel (ISO P workpiece material) and stainless and heat-resistant alloys (ISO M workpiece material), corresponding to material grades C5 and C6. At a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), it is optimized for finishing and light semi-finish passes. The positive rake geometry and chip breaker code N support consistent chip control in close-tolerance turning environments. This insert belongs to the KENDEX series and is held in place by a top clamp-style toolholder per the TPU insert holding method.
