The HERTEL 1000683 is a solid carbide turning insert in the TPG222 style, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. The insert has a 60-degree triangular shape with an 11-degree relief angle, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. Grade HC210 positions this insert for use across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians using a clamp-style holding method.

This insert is suited for light-to-moderate turning operations in both job shop and production environments. It fits toolholders that accept the TPG-style clamp seat. Primary workpiece material classifications are M, N, and S, covering stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Secondary classification K covers cast iron.
