The HERTEL 1000321 is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision lathe and boring operations. Carrying manufacturer grade HC210 with a PVD-applied TiN coating, this insert delivers consistent cutting performance on a range of workpiece materials. The diamond-shaped insert features an 80-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It is held in place by a screw-clamping method and is designed for use in ModBORE series toolholders. Neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to standard turning and boring setups. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for turning operations on stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys, corresponding to ISO workpiece material groups M, N, and S as primary, and K as secondary. The positive rake geometry reduces cutting forces and heat generation, making it appropriate for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Its ModBORE series designation means it is intended for use with compatible boring bar and toolholder systems that accept CCMT 32.52 inserts. Typical applications include internal and external diameter turning on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both production and repair-shop environments.
Designed for use in ModBORE series toolholders accepting CCMT 32.52 inserts. Compatible with material grades C2 and C4 per ANSI classification. Suitable for ISO workpiece material groups M (stainless), N (non-ferrous), S (superalloys) as primary, and K (cast iron) as secondary.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before removing or seating any cutting insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw to the correct torque per toolholder documentation. Inspect the toolholder seat and screw threads for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
