The HERTEL 1000113 is a left-hand MDJN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for negative-rake external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from steel with a 1 x 1 inch square shank and an overall length of 6 inches, it accepts DN..54. series inserts secured by a clamp and screw holding method. The 3-degree lead angle and 1.47-inch head length position the insert for stable, repeatable cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators specify this holder for production turning where consistent insert indexing and rigid clamping are required.
This toolholder suits external turning applications in both job shop and production environments where a left-hand approach angle is dictated by the setup. The MDJN style is a common configuration for straight and shoulder turning passes. The 5/8-inch (0.625 inch) insert inscribed circle and DN..54. insert compatibility make it a standard choice for medium to heavy stock removal on conventional and live-tooling lathe setups. It is not configured for coolant-through delivery and is intended as a single-application, non-multi-use holder.
Compatible with DN..54. series inserts (DN.. 543 complete insert compatibility). Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application toolholder for lathes accepting a 1 x 1 inch shank in a standard MDJN left-hand configuration.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before mounting or adjusting the toolholder in the turret or tool post. Secure the shank firmly in the tool block to the machine manufacturer's clamping specification before indexing any insert. Inspect insert seating and clamp screw torque each time an insert is indexed to maintain dimensional accuracy and safe operation.
