The HERTEL 1000085 is a neutral-hand CTCP-style indexable turning toolholder designed for external turning operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from steel, it features a 3/4 x 3/4 inch square shank and an overall length of 6 inches. The toolholder uses a clamp-style insert holding method with a 3-degree positive rake angle, which promotes free-cutting action and helps reduce cutting forces during general-purpose turning. It accepts TP..43. series inserts with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. This holder is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and job-shop turning applications.
The HERTEL 1000085 is suited for external turning on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where a positive rake geometry is preferred. The neutral hand orientation allows mounting on either side of the turret or tool post in setups where a left- or right-hand holder would be impractical. The clamp-style clamping method provides secure insert retention during interrupted and continuous cuts. Compatible insert style is TP..43. (complete compatibility designation TP.. 432). Coolant-through capability is not included in this holder.
Accepts TP..43. series inserts (complete insert compatibility designation: TP.. 432) with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle. Designed as a clamp-type replacement or new-installation toolholder for standard turning applications requiring a neutral CTCP-style holder with a 3/4 x 3/4 inch shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-room technician. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Secure the shank fully within the tool block to the manufacturer-specified clamping engagement depth before operating. Inspect insert seating and clamping screw torque per the insert manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut.
