The GUHRING 9055140097000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Measuring 0.3819 inches in diameter with a 140-degree split point geometry and web-thinned tip, it delivers aggressive cutting action with reduced thrust. The 2-flute spiral design with a regular helix evacuates chips efficiently during operation. Built to DIN 6537 K specification, this bit carries a coated finish to extend tool life under demanding production conditions. It is sized for use with a straight-cylindrical shank and is intended for installation in machine tool spindles, CNC machining centers, and drill press setups by machinists and tooling technicians.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling applications in cast iron and steel workpieces where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are priorities. The screw machine length format — shorter than jobber length — provides added rigidity, making it well-suited for high-cycle production environments and tight-tolerance boring operations. The parallel web configuration and SU point type contribute to self-centering entry without a pilot hole in many setups. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 1.278 inches in a single pass without peck cycling on most setups.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpiece materials as an OEM-grade carbide screw machine drill in Series 5514. Compatible with any tool holder or chuck accepting a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure spindle is fully stopped and machine is de-energized before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a collet or drill chuck rated for the intended RPM and feed rate. Verify runout with an indicator before beginning production runs to protect the carbide edge from premature chipping.
