The GLOBAL n4102 is a 2-pole definite-purpose contactor rated at 20 amps with a 120-volt coil. It is used to switch load circuits in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, energizing compressors, condenser fans, and other high-draw components under control of a low-voltage thermostat or control board signal. The coil draws 120 volts AC to close the contacts and hold them under load. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the primary installers of this type of contactor in both new installations and service replacement work.
This contactor is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC applications where a 2-pole, 20-amp definite-purpose device is specified. Typical install locations include outdoor condensing units, rooftop units, and packaged systems that require switching of single-phase compressor or fan motor loads. It serves as a direct replacement for several contractor-grade and OEM-specified contactors in the same electrical class.
The n4102 is a cross-reference replacement for Mars 17122, Mars 17126, Hartland Controls HCCY2XT00AA303, Cutler-Hammer C25BNB220A, Siemens 45CG20AF, and Johnstone L41-431.
Contactor replacement is performed by licensed HVAC technicians. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit at the disconnect block and the main panel before removing the existing contactor. Verify coil voltage and pole count match the application before installation. Follow NEC guidelines for wiring terminations and ensure all line and load terminals are torqued to the equipment manufacturer's specified values as noted on the unit wiring diagram.
