The GENESIS CABLE 55061004 is a 14 AWG 2-pair solid conductor unshielded fire alarm cable supplied on a 1,000-foot reel in red jacket. Designed for use in fire detection and notification systems, this cable carries signal and power between control panels, initiating devices, and notification appliances. The solid conductor construction supports reliable, low-resistance connections in fixed installations. Red jacketing provides immediate visual identification as fire alarm wiring, supporting code-compliant installation and future serviceability. Licensed fire alarm technicians and licensed electricians are the primary installers of this cable type.
This cable is suited for commercial and residential fire alarm system installations where unshielded, solid-conductor wiring is specified. Typical applications include runs from fire alarm control panels to smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull stations, horns, and strobes. The 1,000-foot reel quantity is appropriate for larger new-construction projects or multi-zone retrofit installations. The unshielded construction is standard for most Class B and Class A fire alarm circuit wiring in low-interference environments.
Designed as a standard unshielded solid-conductor fire alarm cable for use in fire detection and notification system wiring applications where 14 AWG 2-pair cable is specified by the system designer or AHJ.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or certified fire alarm technician in accordance with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC Article 760), and all applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow lockout/tagout procedures before making any wiring connections. Maintain minimum bend radius and avoid running cable parallel to high-voltage conductors to prevent signal interference. Verify conductor termination type and circuit class requirements with the fire alarm system drawings before pulling cable.
