The GENESIS CABLE 43151001 is a 12 AWG, 2-conductor solid-conductor fire alarm cable rated FPLR (Fire Power Limited Riser). Designed for use in fire detection and signaling systems, this cable meets riser-rated installation requirements, meaning it is suitable for vertical runs between floors in commercial and residential buildings. The solid conductor construction supports reliable, low-resistance connections at terminal blocks and field devices. This cable ships on a 1,000-foot roll, making it appropriate for larger installation jobs requiring continuous uncut runs.
This cable is used in fire alarm and life-safety signaling systems where a riser-rated, unshielded cable is required. Typical applications include connecting initiating devices, notification appliances, and control panel wiring in multi-story commercial buildings, schools, hospitals, and similar structures. The white jacket aids in identification during inspection and allows labeling per local AHJ requirements. It is installed by licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage electricians working under NFPA 72 and applicable local codes.
Designed as an OEM-style riser-rated fire alarm cable for use in unshielded, solid-conductor fire detection and signaling circuits per NFPA 72 and local fire code requirements.
Installation must be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and all applicable local and state codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow the panel manufacturer lockout procedure before making any wiring connections. FPLR-rated cable must be installed in a listed riser shaft or equivalent listed enclosure when used in vertical floor-to-floor runs. Do not install this cable in plenum spaces; a plenum-rated cable is required for those applications.
