The GENERAC 7247 is a portable gasoline-powered generator rated at 8500 watts, equipped with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system and COsense carbon monoxide detection technology. The EFI engine draws on automotive-style fuel management to deliver consistent startup in a wide range of conditions and reduces fuel-related storage problems during extended downtime. COsense monitors ambient CO levels and triggers an automatic shutdown before concentrations reach a dangerous threshold. This unit is suited for job-site power, emergency residential backup, and outdoor work applications where reliable, protected power delivery is required. Installation and setup are handled by qualified technicians or experienced operators.
The 7247 is designed for portable use across job sites, residential properties, and remote locations where utility power is unavailable or interrupted. The electric start system, all-terrain never-flat wheels, and fold-down locking handle support rapid deployment and repositioning. Covered outlets and a ControlGuard panel shield provide environmental protection during operation in demanding outdoor conditions. The large-capacity steel fuel tank includes an integrated fuel gauge for monitoring runtime. An hour meter tracks total usage to support routine maintenance scheduling.
Designed as a standalone portable generator unit. Intended for use with standard 120-volt and 240-volt electrical loads typical of residential and light commercial job-site applications.
Setup and commissioning of portable generators should be performed by a qualified electrician or generator technician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) and applicable local codes. Never operate a portable generator indoors, in a garage, or in any partially enclosed space — CO accumulation poses a fatal hazard even with COsense protection active. Connect loads through properly rated extension cords or a transfer switch; never backfeed utility wiring. Inspect fuel lines, connections, and oil level before each use.
