The EKLIND TOOL CO 14609 is a 4.5mm long-series hex L-key designed to drive internal hexagon socket fasteners — commonly called allen head fasteners — in tight or recessed locations. The long arm measures 4.32 inches, providing extended reach and increased torque leverage, while the short arm measures 1 inch for confined spaces where rotation is limited. The tool is forged from Eklind Alloy Steel that is heat treated, quenched, and tempered for optimum strength, torque capacity, and ductility. The 14609 is suited for applications where standard-length hex keys lack the reach needed to engage recessed socket-head cap screws, set screws, or machine screws in equipment panels, motors, pumps, valves, and structural assemblies. The long-arm geometry allows torque to be applied with minimal hand effort on the short arm. This key is sold as an individual unit and is packaged in quantities of 6 per package, making it practical for stocking service vans or tool kits.

No power source or lockout procedure is required for the hex key itself, but always de-energize and follow appropriate lockout/tagout procedures on any equipment before accessing or adjusting fasteners. Use the long arm for reach and initial engagement, then switch to the short arm to apply final torque where needed. Inspect the key for wear or rounding before use — a worn key can strip fastener sockets. Disposal of worn hand tools should follow local shop waste guidelines.
