The EKLIND TOOL CO 14224 is a long-arm hex L key designed to drive internal hexagon socket fasteners, commonly called Allen head fasteners. The key measures 3/8 inch across the hex and features a long arm of 6.75 inches and a short arm of 1.38 inches, giving technicians added reach and leverage in tight or deep applications. The tool is machined from Eklind Alloy Steel that has been heat treated, quenched, and tempered for optimum strength, torque capacity, and ductility. A rust-resistant finish protects the tool in demanding shop and field conditions. Electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and general tradespeople rely on this style of key for equipment access panels, set screws, and mechanical assemblies.
The 14224 is suited for residential and commercial trade work wherever 3/8 inch internal hex fasteners are encountered. The long-arm geometry allows the user to apply torque through the short arm when breaking loose tight fasteners, then switch to driving through the long arm for faster rotation in open clearance situations. It is a standard tool in HVAC equipment service, electrical enclosure work, pump assembly, and general mechanical maintenance.
Designed for use with any 3/8 inch internal hexagon socket fastener in residential or commercial trade applications.
This tool is used by trade professionals across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical service work. Before servicing equipment, de-energize electrical systems per NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures and shut off fluid or refrigerant supply as required by the system type. Inspect the key for cracks or rounding before applying torque, and do not use extension sleeves or pipes over the handle to increase leverage beyond the tool's rated capacity.
