The ECOBEE eb-state6p-01 is a Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostat designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC systems. It replaces a conventional thermostat and serves as the central control point for heating and cooling, with built-in Alexa voice service and Siri compatibility eliminating the need for a separate smart speaker. The unit features a built-in air quality monitor that alerts occupants when air quality degrades and offers corrective guidance. Radar-based occupancy sensing detects when a space is unoccupied and automatically adjusts setpoints to reduce energy consumption. The redesigned touchscreen display is 50 percent larger than previous generations, supporting intuitive on-device scheduling and control. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable homeowners typically handle installation.
The eb-state6p-01 is suited for residential homes and small commercial spaces running ducted forced-air systems, including gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning. The thermostat integrates with smartphone apps for remote access and schedule management, and it supports utility demand-response programs that automatically shift heating and cooling loads to periods when grid electricity is cleaner and more affordable. An included Smart Sensor extends room-level temperature and occupancy detection to areas beyond the thermostat location, helping eliminate hot and cold spots in key rooms. Air filter change reminders and optional filter delivery subscriptions are also supported through the ecobee platform.
Designed as an OEM-style smart thermostat replacement compatible with a broad range of residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems, including gas furnaces and heat pumps. Refer to ecobee compatibility documentation and the wiring configuration tool for system-specific verification before installation.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Power down the HVAC system at the breaker and disconnect the existing thermostat wiring before beginning. C-wire availability should be confirmed at the sub-base prior to installation, as the thermostat requires a continuous 24-volt common connection for operation. Follow all applicable local codes and the manufacturer wiring guide during terminal connections.
