The DURAVENT 4PVL-WTR is a pellet vent wall thimble engineered to provide the required 3-inch clearance to combustibles when routing 4-inch pellet vent pipe through a framed wall. The thimble features a 9 x 9 inch wall plate that fits between standard 16-inch on-center wall studs, eliminating the need for framing modifications in most residential installations. An included insulation ring seals the annular gap where the pipe passes through, reducing cold-air infiltration and draft. This component is UL Listed for 3-inch clearance to combustibles in both the USA and Canada. It is installed by HVAC technicians, chimney professionals, or qualified installers working on solid-fuel appliance venting systems.
The 4PVL-WTR is designed for use with pellet vent systems serving wood pellet stoves and pellet stove inserts. It is part of DuraVent's PelletVent series and is used in residential horizontal wall-exit venting runs where the pellet pipe must penetrate an exterior or interior framed wall. The thimble establishes the required combustible clearance at the wall penetration point, a code-critical detail in any solid-fuel appliance installation. This thimble is not intended for use with wood-burning fireplaces, gas appliances, or Class A chimney systems.
Designed for use with 4-inch DuraVent PelletVent pipe systems on wood pellet stoves and pellet stove inserts requiring a horizontal wall-exit thimble with 3-inch combustible clearance.
Installation should be performed by a licensed installer or qualified chimney professional in accordance with the appliance manufacturer instructions and applicable local building codes. Power down and fully cool the appliance before beginning any venting work. The wall opening must be sized to maintain the full 3-inch clearance to combustibles on all sides of the pipe as required by the UL listing. Secure the wall plate to the framing and seat the insulation ring fully before inserting the vent pipe through the thimble.
