The DURAVENT 4PVL-12R is a double-wall, air-insulated pellet vent pipe section designed for venting pellet-burning stoves and inserts. It measures 4 inches inner diameter by 12 inches in length, with a 4-1/2 inch outer diameter. The inner wall is constructed from .012 inches super ferritic stainless steel, and the outer wall is .018 inches laser-welded Galvalume. The fully unitized, twist-lock construction simplifies field assembly and ensures a secure, repeatable connection. This pipe section is UL Listed with a 3-inch clearance to combustibles rating, applicable in both the USA and Canada. Licensed HVAC technicians and hearth installers are the typical tradespeople handling this component.
This pipe section is approved for use in both vertical and horizontal pellet vent installations. It is specifically engineered for stoves and inserts that burn wood pellets. Importantly, it is required for venting pellet appliances installed at elevations above 4,000 feet, where standard single-wall pipe may not meet code or performance requirements. Its double-wall air-insulated design maintains flue gas temperature across longer vent runs and in both interior and exterior installation scenarios.
Designed for use with pellet-burning stoves and inserts that require 4-inch pellet vent pipe. Verified for use in both vertical and horizontal vent configurations. Required for installations at elevations above 4,000 feet per UL listing requirements in the USA and Canada.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hearth installer or licensed HVAC technician familiar with solid-fuel venting systems. Power down and allow the appliance to cool completely before servicing or extending any vent run. Follow the appliance manufacturer's venting instructions and all applicable local codes, including clearance-to-combustibles requirements. Verify the twist-lock joint is fully engaged and seated before restoring appliance operation.
