The DURA PLASTIC PVC80BUSHSPS2114 is a flush socket reducer bushing manufactured from Schedule 80 PVC. It transitions a 2-inch line down to a 1-1/4-inch line using a spigot-by-socket (Spg x S) end configuration. The spigot end inserts directly into a standard socket fitting, while the socket end accepts a 1-1/4-inch pipe or fitting. Schedule 80 PVC carries a thicker wall than Schedule 40, making it suitable for higher-pressure systems and industrial or commercial plumbing applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting wherever a flush-style reducer bushing is required in a PVC pressure piping system.
This reducer bushing is used in residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation, industrial process piping, and pool and spa plumbing systems. The flush socket design keeps the fitting compact and minimizes the overall installed length at the reduction point. It is solvent-cemented in place following standard PVC Schedule 80 joining procedures. Installers working in chemical handling or higher-pressure applications choose Schedule 80 fittings for the added wall thickness and pressure rating.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for PVC Schedule 80 pressure piping systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch flush socket reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use PVC primer and Schedule 80-rated solvent cement, and follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use this fitting with pipe schedules or materials other than PVC Schedule 80 without verifying pressure and chemical compatibility.
