The CRATEX A3A120CXG 1/4 is a rubber-bonded mounted abrasive point in an A3 tree shape, designed for precision grinding, deburring, and surface finishing in tight or contoured areas. The abrasive medium is aluminum oxide at 120 grit, rated Fine grade with a soft density, making it well suited for controlled material removal without aggressive stock takeoff. The point measures 2.75 inches in thickness with a 1/4-inch shank diameter and 1/4-inch shank length. Maximum rated speed is 10,730 RPM. This type of tooling is typically installed in die grinders, rotary tools, or tool-and-cutter grinders used in metalworking, mold finishing, and precision fabrication shops.
The A3A120CXG 1/4 is used wherever a small, shaped abrasive is needed to reach recessed geometry, internal radii, ports, or cast surfaces that flat or wheel-type abrasives cannot access. It is common in maintenance, repair, and fabrication applications across metalworking, tool and die, and light industrial trades. The tree profile of the A3 shape allows the operator to work along tapered or curved profiles with consistent contact. Machinists, tool and die makers, and general maintenance technicians are the primary users.
Designed for use with die grinders, rotary tools, and tool-and-cutter grinders fitted with a 1/4-inch collet. Confirm the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the 10,730 RPM rating of this mounted point.
Installation is performed by inserting the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet of the grinder and tightening securely before operation. Always verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the maximum RPM stamped or rated on the abrasive point. Wear appropriate eye protection and ensure the workpiece is properly secured before engaging the abrasive. Inspect the mounted point for cracks or damage before each use and discard any point that shows signs of deterioration.
