The CRATEX 74 M is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision deburring, smoothing, and finishing on fine or delicate workpieces. It measures 7/8 inch in diameter, 1/8 inch thick, with a 1/16 inch arbor hole. The wheel is constructed with silicon carbide abrasive in a rubber bond matrix at a medium grade, which delivers a controlled cut with a degree of flexibility that harder vitrified wheels do not provide. Rated to 25,000 RPM, it is suited for high-speed rotary tools and precision spindles used in fine finishing work. It ships in a package quantity of 100.
This wheel is intended for light material removal and surface refinement on a wide range of sensitive or intricate components. Typical applications include aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices. Its small form factor and rubber bond construction make it a practical choice where controlled abrasion and minimal workpiece stress are required. It is commonly used by machinists, jewelers, instrument technicians, and precision fabricators working with tight tolerances or delicate substrates.
Suited for use with aerospace components, control mechanisms, dies, electronic parts, instruments, jewelry, light castings, molds, plastic articles, and super sensitive scientific devices, as specified by the manufacturer. Fits spindles and mandrels accepting a 1/16 inch arbor hole.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or technician familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 25,000 RPM wheel rating before mounting. Ensure the tool is powered off and fully stopped before changing wheels. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before use and never force the arbor hole onto an oversized spindle.
