The CRATEX 304 XF is a silicon carbide, rubber-bonded surface grinding wheel designed for precision finishing and surface conditioning on metal and non-ferrous workpieces. Measuring 3 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick with a 1/4-inch arbor hole, this extra fine grade wheel delivers controlled material removal ideal for light deburring, polishing, and surface prep. The rubber bond cushions the abrasive action, reducing the risk of gouging on sensitive surfaces. Rated to a maximum of 7000 RPM, it is suited for use on bench grinders, die grinders, and rotary tools where a consistent, fine finish is required.
This wheel is intended for use in applications including corrosion removal, deburring, excess solder removal, heat mark blending, polishing operations, rust removal, scratch blending, smoothing, and tarnish removal. It is well suited for HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians working with copper tubing, fittings, and metal surfaces that require a clean finish before soldering, brazing, or connection. The green silicon carbide composition makes it effective on non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, and harder alloys where aluminum oxide wheels may not perform as well.
Designed for use in corrosion removal, deburring, excess solder removal, heat mark blending, polishing, rust removal, scratch blending, smoothing, and tarnish removal operations. Fits rotary tools and grinders accepting a 1/4-inch arbor at speeds not exceeding 7000 RPM.
This wheel is installed and used by trade professionals including HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians performing surface prep on metal components. Before mounting, ensure the tool is unplugged or its power source is fully de-energized. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 7000 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting and operation.
