The CRATEX 2 C is a small-diameter surface grinding wheel designed for precision deburring, cleaning, and polishing work on metal and other hard surfaces. Measuring 5/8 inch in diameter and 3/32 inch thick with a 1/16 inch center hole, this wheel uses a silicon carbide abrasive grain bonded in a rubber matrix. The rubber bond provides a degree of flexibility and cushioning that reduces the risk of surface gouging, making it well suited for fine finishing passes. Rated to 25000 RPM, it is compatible with high-speed rotary tools and die grinders used in shop and field maintenance settings. The coarse grade removes material efficiently while the rubber bond delivers a consistent finish.
This wheel is intended for cleaning and polishing applications on metal components, tooling, and assemblies. Its compact 5/8 inch diameter allows access to tight spaces, recesses, and internal bores where larger wheels cannot reach. Typical use cases include weld cleanup, surface prep, rust and scale removal, and light burr removal on precision parts. It is commonly used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians. The green color coding identifies the silicon carbide grain type. Wheels are packaged in quantities of 100, suited for high-volume shop environments.
Designed for use with high-speed rotary tools, die grinders, and similar equipment rated for wheels up to 25000 RPM; intended for cleaning and polishing applications as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Always verify that the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the 25000 RPM rating marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for chips or cracks prior to each use and replace any damaged wheel immediately. Follow ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the storage, handling, and use of abrasive wheels.
