The COOPER BUSSMANN FP-3 is a fuse puller designed for safe removal and installation of midsize cylindrical fuses. It handles fuses ranging from 1 to 1-3/4 inches in diameter, covering 35 to 200 amp at 600 volts and 70 to 200 amp at 250 volts. Electricians and maintenance technicians use it to extract and seat fuses without direct hand contact, reducing arc flash exposure and preventing damage to fuse clips. The tool is sold individually and weighs 0.8 pounds, making it a compact addition to any service kit.
The FP-3 is suited for commercial and industrial electrical service work where midsize cartridge fuses are common. Typical applications include disconnect switches, panelboards, motor control centers, and distribution equipment that use Class H, K, or RK fuse formats within the compatible diameter and amperage range. It is standard carry for electricians servicing 240-volt and 600-volt distribution systems.
Designed for use with cylindrical cartridge fuses measuring 1 to 1-3/4 inches in diameter, including 35 to 200 amp 600 volt fuses and 70 to 200 amp 250 volt fuses.
Fuse pullers should only be used by qualified electricians following NFPA 70E safe work practices. Always de-energize and lockout/tagout the disconnect or panel before servicing fuses where possible. When live work is permitted under an energized electrical work permit, use appropriate PPE rated for the available fault current. Do not use this tool on fuses outside the stated diameter range, as a poor grip can cause the fuse to drop or contact energized components.
