The 118-degree notched point with web thinning reduces entry force and centers the bit cleanly on cast iron and steel workpieces. An oxide finish provides light corrosion resistance during storage and initial use. Right-hand cutting direction with a regular spiral and tapered web make this a reliable general-purpose bit for through-hole work where standard-length bits fall short.
