The CLE-LINE C18110 is a wire gauge jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. Sized to wire gauge No. 57 (0.0430 inches decimal equivalent), this bit features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking on contact and lowers the thrust required to start a hole. The high-speed steel (HSS) construction is finished with a black and gold oxide coating that resists heat buildup and light corrosion during use. With an overall length of 1.75 inches and a 0.75-inch flute, it is suited for tight-clearance applications and precision work in production or field environments. Installation and use is common among machinists, HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers who need small-diameter pilot or tap-size holes.
This bit is appropriate for drilling into steel and cast iron in both light production and maintenance contexts. The straight cylindrical shank and compact 1.75-inch overall length make it compatible with standard drill chucks and precision collet holders commonly used in bench drill presses, handheld power drills, and drill-press fixtures. The No. 57 wire gauge size is frequently used for tap drilling, pilot hole preparation, and small-fastener clearance holes in sheet metal and structural components encountered in HVAC, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use jobber drill bit for standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.0430-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron.
This bit should be installed by a qualified machinist or trade professional familiar with small-diameter drilling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance to avoid breakage at this diameter. Use a cutting fluid or coolant appropriate for HSS tooling when drilling steel or cast iron to extend tool life. Avoid excessive feed pressure, which can snap small-diameter bits.
