The CERROBRASS 72A-8D is a brass compression tube male branch tee designed for use in fluid and pneumatic distribution systems where a single tube line must branch off while also providing a male NPT connection. The fitting uses a compression x compression x MNPT end configuration, with a 1/2-inch tube outside diameter on the compression ports and a 1/2 NPT male thread on the branch outlet. Thread size is 11/16-20 per SAE standards. The fitting is rated to 400 psi maximum working pressure and is constructed entirely of brass, making it suitable for a wide range of plumbing and refrigeration-adjacent tubing applications. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the typical installers.
This fitting is used in residential and light commercial tubing systems where a branch connection is needed without a full cross configuration. The compression ends accept standard 1/2-inch OD tubing on both inline ports, while the 1/2 NPT male thread branch allows connection to a female-threaded valve, gauge, or distribution component. The SAE-rated construction and wide temperature range of -65 degrees F to 212 degrees F make it applicable across refrigeration, fuel, and general-purpose pneumatic or hydraulic tubing assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for systems using 1/2-inch OD compression tubing with a 1/2 NPT branch outlet in residential or light commercial plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, or pneumatic applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the IPC or IFGC as relevant to the service application. Shut off and depressurize the system fully before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Ensure tubing ends are cut cleanly and deburred before inserting into compression fittings to achieve a proper seal. Do not over-tighten compression nuts, as this can deform the ferrule and compromise the connection.
