The CERROBRASS 119A-DC is a brass female pipe coupling designed for joining or reducing threaded pipe connections in industrial and commercial plumbing systems. It features female National Pipe Thread Fuel (NPTF) threads on both ends in a 1/2 inch by 3/8 inch configuration, providing a pressure-rated, leak-resistant connection without the need for sealant tape when properly made up. Rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure, this coupling is built for demanding fluid and gas service applications where reliable threaded joints are required. The all-brass construction offers corrosion resistance suitable for water, oil, air, and compatible fluid systems.
This coupling is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial piping installations where NPTF threaded connections are specified. Typical applications include plumbing supply lines, pneumatic systems, hydraulic distribution, fuel lines, and instrumentation manifolds. The reducing configuration - 1/2 inch female inlet to 3/8 inch female outlet - allows technicians to transition between pipe sizes without additional fittings. Plumbers, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics routinely install this type of fitting in both new construction and retrofit service work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for systems using 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch NPTF threaded connections in piping assemblies rated to 1,200 psi or below.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the system type. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. NPTF threads are designed for dry-seal assembly, but consult the system specification before applying thread sealant compounds. Avoid over-torquing brass fittings, as the material is softer than steel and susceptible to thread damage.
