The CARRHILL SR11434 is a yellow socket fusion reducer coupling designed for joining medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) gas distribution piping. It transitions from a 1.25-inch socket to a 0.75-inch socket using a heat-fusion joining method, creating a continuous, leak-resistant bond. The yellow color identifies this fitting as specifically rated for gas service per industry convention. Licensed plumbers and gas piping technicians install this fitting during new installation and repair work on underground or above-grade MDPE gas lines.
This coupling is suited for residential and light commercial gas distribution systems that use MDPE pipe. It is used wherever a line reduction is required between 1.25-inch and 0.75-inch MDPE gas pipe runs, such as service laterals, meter sets, or distribution branch connections. Socket fusion joining requires compatible fusion tooling and adherence to pipe manufacturer specifications for heating times and cooling before pressurization.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for 1.25-inch by 0.75-inch socket fusion MDPE gas piping systems.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas piping technician in accordance with applicable codes including IFGC and local gas utility requirements. Shut off and verify zero pressure on the gas line before cutting into any existing piping. Use only socket fusion tooling sized and calibrated for MDPE pipe at the specified diameters. Allow full cooling time before pressure testing the completed joint.
