Product Description

The CARRHILL PRA34 is a 3/4-inch MIPT steel to MDPE anodeless transition meter riser designed for natural gas distribution systems. This fitting transitions above-grade steel pipe connections to below-grade medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) gas service lines, eliminating the need for a separate anodeless casing. The steel MIPT end connects directly to the meter set or service regulator, while the MDPE end is factory-bonded to the plastic gas main. Licensed plumbers and gas fitters install this component during meter set installations and service line tie-ins.

This meter riser is suited for residential and light commercial gas service applications where an underground MDPE gas line rises above grade to connect to a gas meter. It is a direct-bury-compatible riser that manages the transition from plastic underground piping to the steel above-grade meter connection. It is typically installed in new service installations and service line replacements where MDPE poly pipe is the primary distribution material.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas fitter in accordance with applicable local codes and IFGC requirements. The MDPE end should be joined using manufacturer-approved fusion or mechanical coupling methods appropriate for the pipe size and material. Do not use thread sealant or pipe dope on the MDPE end of the transition fitting.
