The CALEFFI 644004 is a 24 VAC, 3-wire control actuator designed to operate ball or zone valves in hydronic heating and cooling systems. It draws 4 VA during operation and drives a 90-degree valve rotation in approximately 40 seconds, providing reliable, controlled flow switching in low-voltage zone control applications. The integrated micro-switch contacts are rated at 5 amps at 24 volts, enabling end-of-travel signaling to zone controllers or circulators. The 36-inch supply cable allows flexible routing within mechanical rooms and panel enclosures. Licensed HVAC and plumbing technicians are the primary installers for this type of actuator.
This actuator is intended for use with CALEFFI 6442 and 6443 series valves in residential and light commercial hydronic systems. Typical installations include zone control on radiant floor heating loops, fan coil units, and hydronic distribution manifolds where individual zone isolation and end-switch signaling are required. It is well suited for multi-zone systems controlled by low-voltage thermostats or zone control boards.
Designed for use with CALEFFI 6442 and 6443 series valves.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber familiar with low-voltage hydronic zone control wiring. De-energize the zone control panel and shut off system power before connecting or disconnecting the actuator. Verify valve orientation and actuator alignment before securing to avoid mechanical binding during operation. Wiring should comply with NEC requirements for low-voltage control circuits.
