The BONEHAM SP00008894 is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. Classified as a Type H P bushing per ANSI standards, it accepts a letter-size U drill with an inside diameter of 0.368 inches and carries an ID tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches for tight, repeatable hole location. The body outside diameter measures 0.75 inches with an overall length of 0.625 inches. Manufactured from steel hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear under continuous drilling cycles. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this component when consistent drill guidance across multiple production runs is required.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs in both production and maintenance machining environments. The headless design allows flush installation in plates where a flanged bushing would interfere with workpiece clamping or mating surfaces. It is pressed directly into the jig plate bore without mechanical fasteners, making it appropriate for fixed-position applications where the bushing does not need to be swapped out during operation. The hardened steel construction makes it appropriate for repetitive-use fixtures in metalworking and fabrication shops.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jigs and machining fixtures requiring a 0.75-inch press fit bore and a letter-size U (0.368-inch) drill guide.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press to drive the bushing flush into a precision-bored jig plate hole sized to the appropriate press fit tolerance. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be finish-reamed to the correct interference fit dimension before pressing to avoid damaging the bushing or plate. Do not hammer the bushing directly without a proper driver or press to prevent out-of-round seating. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, replacement requires pressing out the old bushing and installing a new one.
