The BONEHAM SF648LR is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to the SF industry code, this bushing features a 17/32 inch inside diameter and a 1 inch body outside diameter, with a 1/2 inch length under the head. The head outside diameter measures 1-27/64 inches and the head height is 3/8 inch. Constructed from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, it delivers consistent bore alignment and long service life under repeated drilling operations. A licensed machinist or tooling technician typically installs this component in production or maintenance jig setups.
The SF648LR is suited for use in drill jig assemblies across manufacturing, metalworking, and maintenance repair operations. The slip-fixed configuration allows the bushing to be seated and locked in position using a compatible lock screw, making it appropriate for fixed-location drilling stations where the bushing remains in place throughout a production run. This bushing is renewable, so it can be replaced without scrapping the jig liner, which reduces tooling cost over time in high-cycle environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard SF-code slip-fixed drill bushing compatible with LS-2 lock screws. Fits standard jig liner bores sized for a 1 inch body outside diameter. Renewable construction is compatible with existing press-fit liner installations of the appropriate bore size.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or tooling technician as part of a jig or fixture build or rebuild. The bushing slips into the liner bore and is secured with an LS-2 compatible lock screw to prevent rotation and axial movement during drilling. Ensure the liner bore and bushing body are clean and free of chips or burrs before seating to maintain the specified inside diameter tolerance. Verify lock screw engagement before beginning any drilling operation.
