The BONEHAM SF648LA is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features a 15/32 inch inside diameter and a 1 inch body outside diameter, with a head outside diameter of 1-27/64 inches and a head height of 3/8 inch. The body length under the head is 1/2 inch. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60-65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repeatable, high-tolerance drilling operations. It is a renewable bushing, meaning it can be replaced in the liner without disturbing the jig plate. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0005 inch, conforming to ANSI standards.
Slip-fixed bushings in the SF series are used in production drilling jigs where the bushing must be locked in place during the operation but removed for tool changes without a locking collar. The SF648LA is suited for metalworking shops, tool-and-die operations, and any machining environment requiring accurate, repeatable hole location. Its LS-2 compatible lock screw interface secures the bushing in the liner bushing installed in the jig plate. This part is sold individually and is appropriate for both original equipment setups and maintenance replacement of worn bushings in existing fixtures.
Designed for use with LS-2 lock screws and standard liner bushings conforming to ANSI slip-fixed bushing specifications. Fits jig plates and fixtures configured for the SF bushing industry code series.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool-and-die technicians. The bushing is pressed or slipped into a mating liner bushing already installed in the jig plate and is secured with an LS-2 compatible lock screw. Ensure the liner bushing bore is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the bushing. When replacing a worn bushing, confirm the new inside diameter tolerance meets drawing requirements before returning the fixture to production.
