The BONEHAM SF6412MR is a slip-fixed drill bushing engineered for precision hole-location work in jig and fixture applications. Built to ANSI standards, it features an inside diameter of 0.6875 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, a body outside diameter of 1 inch, and a head outside diameter of 1-27/64 inches. The bushing is manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, making it suitable for high-wear drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Installation is slip-fixed, meaning the bushing locks in place via a compatible lock screw rather than being permanently pressed into the liner. This part is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders working in precision manufacturing environments.
This slip-fixed bushing is used in drill jig and fixture setups where renewable bushing replacement is required without removing the liner bushing from the plate. The SF industry code designation identifies it as a headed, slip-type renewable bushing. With a length under head of 3/4 inches and a head height of 3/8 inches, it is suited for standard jig plate thicknesses in both production and prototype machining operations. It accepts an LS-2 compatible lock screw for positive retention during drilling cycles.
Compatible with LS-2 lock screws. Designed as a renewable slip-fixed drill bushing for use with standard liner bushings in drill jig and fixture applications conforming to ANSI bushing standards.
Installation and replacement of slip-fixed drill bushings is typically performed by toolmakers or machinists during jig setup or maintenance. Ensure the drill plate and liner bushing bore are clean and free of chips or burrs before inserting the bushing. Secure with the appropriate LS-2 lock screw to prevent rotation or withdrawal during operation. Do not force the bushing into a liner with a hammer or arbor press, as slip-fixed bushings are designed for hand-insertable fits.
