The BONEHAM SF4822IU is a slip-fixed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel, this bushing features a 21/64 inch inside diameter, a 3/4 inch body outside diameter, and a 1-3/8 inch length under head. The head outside diameter measures 1-3/64 inches with a 1/4 inch head height. The inside diameter is held to a close tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance and repeatable hole location across production runs. It is compatible with an LS-1 lock screw for secure seating in the liner. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and fabrication shops rely on this type of component to maintain accuracy in drilling, reaming, and boring operations.
This bushing is suited for use in renewable bushing systems where the slip-fixed configuration allows the bushing to be removed and replaced without disturbing the liner installed in the jig plate. The SF industry code designates it as a standard slip-fixed type with a head. Typical applications include production jigs in metal fabrication, aerospace component drilling fixtures, and general-purpose tooling setups requiring guided hole operations. The steel construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for repetitive drilling cycles.
Designed for use in renewable drill bushing systems accepting SF-series slip-fixed bushings with an LS-1 compatible lock screw. The bushing seats into a standard liner installed in the jig plate.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists as part of jig and fixture assembly. The mating liner must be properly press-fit into the jig plate before the slip-fixed bushing is inserted. Use the designated LS-1 lock screw to secure the bushing and prevent rotation or axial movement during the drilling operation. Do not force the bushing into an undersized or damaged liner, as this can compromise the inside diameter tolerance and tool guidance accuracy.
