The BONEHAM SF326IU is a slip-fixed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Built to ANSI standards, it features a 21/64-inch inside diameter and a 1/2-inch body outside diameter, with a 3/8-inch length under the head and a 1/4-inch head height. The bushing is manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, providing the wear resistance required for repeatable, high-tolerance drilling operations. It is a renewable bushing, meaning it can be replaced in the liner bushing without disturbing the jig plate. Installation uses an LS-1 compatible lock screw to secure the bushing in position.
This bushing is suited for tooling setups in production machining, fabrication, and maintenance environments where consistent hole location is critical. The SF-series slip-fixed design allows the bushing to be rotated into a locked position, making it practical for applications that require frequent bushing changes during multi-operation drilling, reaming, or boring sequences. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders working in both job shop and production settings rely on this style of bushing for repeatable accuracy across high-volume runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation slip-fixed drill bushing for use with standard ANSI liner bushings and LS-1 series lock screws in drill jig and fixture assemblies.
Slip-fixed bushings are installed and removed by rotating to align or disengage the lock screw, which should be in place before drilling begins to prevent bushing rotation under load. Ensure the mating liner bushing and jig plate are clean and free of chips before seating the bushing. This work is typically performed by machinists or tool and die makers using standard hand tools. Always follow applicable shop safety procedures and equipment lockout protocols when working on powered fixtures or drill press setups.
