The BONEHAM PT288HJ is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides a durable wear surface that maintains accurate hole location through repeated drilling operations. It features an inside diameter of 0.257 inches (Letter F, Wire gauge P) and a body outside diameter of 7/16 inches, with an overall length of 1/2 inch. The tight inside diameter tolerance of plus 0.0001 to plus 0.0005 inches ensures consistent tool guidance. Licensed machinists, toolmakers, and precision fabricators are the primary installers.

This bushing is suited for use in production drilling jigs and fixture plates where a permanent, flush-mounted guide is required. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be reamed to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing the bushing into place. Do not hammer the bushing in directly without a press driver to avoid distorting the bore. Once installed, this non-renewable bushing is not intended for removal without replacement of the jig plate insert.
