The BONEHAM PT2812HP is a press fit headless drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools accurately during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. Built to ANSI standards from hardened steel, this bushing seats flush in a drill jig plate without a protruding head flange, making it the right choice for applications where clearance is tight or a smooth surface is required. The inside diameter is 0.266 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, providing the precise tool guidance that production and toolroom environments demand. Hardness runs 60 to 65 HRC, ensuring long service life under repeated tool passes. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and jig builders are the typical installers.
The PT2812HP suits metalworking and fabrication environments where consistent hole location is critical across multiple workpieces. Its headless design integrates cleanly into drill jig plates used in production machining, assembly fixtures, and quality-control tooling. The 3/4-inch overall length provides sufficient bearing surface to maintain tool alignment through the full depth of most standard jig plates. This bushing is a fixed, non-renewable type, intended for permanent press-fit installation rather than quick-change service.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headless drill bushing with Bushing Industry Code P, suitable for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a 7/16 inch body outside diameter bore.
Installation requires an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush and square into the prepared jig plate bore. The mating bore in the plate should be finish-reamed to the appropriate press fit tolerance for a 7/16 inch OD bushing before installation. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can damage the ID bore geometry or cause the bushing to seat at an angle. Once pressed in, the bushing is not designed for removal and reinstallation.
